Have a 2005 Vector which starts fine after a cold soak overnight, once the low temp light goes off moving the choke off drops the RPMs to 1400. Runs fine but once it's thoroughly warmed up and I come to a stop the RPMs hang at 2200. blip the throttle has no effect. Can continue to drive it with no issues other than the high RPMs when I come to a stop. It's like the TORS kicked in. If I let it get cold enough to light the low temp light on startup, after warmup pushing off the choke drops the rpms back to 1400. This repeated for 5 days last week. It's only after cruising on the trails it won't drop below 2200. Any ideas? Thanks
regardless i would start with a carb clean and make sure the cv slides are moving feely. make sure the air box is on correctly without a boot folding blocking a carb mouth.
after carbs, it might be time to set the valves. the 3 hole motors seem to want it sooner that the service interval in some cases. had one in my garage that that was the only thing left to do to fix its running issue.
Took it for a ride today and, Yes if I choke it idle speed drops. Sprayed some carb cleaner around the boots no change in speed. Like you suggest next step is take the carbs apart for a cleaning.
