I recieved my Highlift Jack today and was wonderring how folks have mounted it... I have a 2007 Apex Mountain with the rear rack. It looks like the exhaust and the rack won't allow it to mount flush againts the tunnel as shown in Bill's video and website. Has anyone come up with a safe mounting set up and still be able use the rear rack? Any pictures would greatly help...
I mounted one on a 2008 but it doesn't have the same plastic rear rack as
my 2007. I Drilled a hole in the front of the right footboard and allow the cross pin to act as a stop on a screw I put in the tunnel poking out a bit. The rear pin is back just rear of the seat on the side. IIRC I drilled out a rivet and used the hole. Be really carefull drilling that front hole. there are wires just in front of the running board. And you can't let it poke all the way to the cross
pin or it will hit things. Hence the stop screw installed from inside the tunnel
sticking into the foot hold pocket of the running board.

Thanks for the pic and tip Roadrider.... I really want to keep that rear rack for my gear. Just not sure how I can mount it there...Still looking for ideas.
Post a pick of what you come up with. I just ordered
a jack for the 2007 as well. I think I plan on doing away with all the plastic back there come end of season. Fab a new tailite mount and make some room
for a decent size bag like on the 2006 in the pic.

Today I pulled all that garbage off the back of the 2007 SE that sufficed
as a rack and tail lite bezel to mount my powder jack. Must be 2 lbs of
hardware 2 of plastic and another 2 for the framework inside. Mounted the
rear powder jack pin in the forward rack hole on the side of the tunnel. Mounted a 1" band clamp with a 1/4-20 bolt down in the left footwell for
the front end. Pulled the clutch cowling and used a 12" long 1/4" drill for
the hole.
The tail lite screwed right in where the two mud flap bolts came out of with
the bezel. I added three rivets first to hold the flap so the plastic lite doesn't
take any load. This summer I'll fab a housing and a couple of bezels to cover
the radiator hoses back on the sides.

Pictures please...
These are powder jacks I have mounted, but it's similar. 1/2 long 1/4x20 stainless bolt in the front clamp, from the tunnel facing out and a nyloc. clamp is 1" You can see the three rivets I added to the mudflap. The only other hole drilled was for the right front storage bag clamp.
And the lack of storage bag area is why I took my plastics off. They completely fill up the rear deck. My bag wouldn't even fit between it.
