I was reading through your log of mainteance/repairs getting to 21,000 miles and I wondered about the new AD bolvein skid ZX2. I have one coming but they say there are only 51 moving parts with 12 of them bolts. NO LUBRICATION is required the plastic doesn't need it. Lots of wheels with big bearings and 8" axle wheels in the back for reduced friction.
All sounds good on paper but if there is anybody that going to do some reliability testing it would be you! I would love to see you put that through 10,000 miles and see how it lasts!!

Me too U would be the ultimate guinney pig lol Your brother wouldnt be to bad either

The only problem is the 144" proactive rides so good why wreck a good thing.
I'm really agressive rider but love the ride of the venture skid they just need some rider forward ergonomics.

wouldn't be wrecking anything that skid is almost shot! Most of us will never wear out a skid, but I think Hondo just might! LOL

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys, it's truly appreciated.
Remarkably, the Venture skid is in pretty good shape. I've got the suspension dialed in to where it is a real pleasure to ride.
If I was having some major problems with the skid, I would consider switching.
Another goal of mine is to run the sled as stock as possible despite the few mods I have on the sled already.
The new Adbovin does look very interesting though. Probably a vast improvement over the older models.
Certainly not a good comparison:
If you go back through my TY ride photo's, according to Tony who rode the RS Venture from "Alaska-to-Maine", had an older version Adbovin skid.
He had some problems with the skid. At the the time I met both Steve and Tony, they had ridden just over 9,700 miles. We briefly discussed the skid. What I picked up from our discussion, it would have been easier to get stock skid parts from a dealer, than after-market parts.
Again, not a comparision, just relating a story that came to mind. Out in the boonies for nearly 70 days you have to do what you have to do. Tony's after-market parts turned out to be; wire, tape, and several large hose clamps.
Concur with DaveyBoy. I do ride with purpose however, I have a tendency to ride conservatively just to save the equipment.
On the other hand, if you wanted to give the skid; "A Freaking-E-Ticket, Nothing-Too-Tough-To-Tame, Kama-Kazi-Test-Ride", my brother would be the one.
He is one tough Hombre' when it comes to testing component durability! LOL...

if they wanted to boast about their product
they would be wise to GIVE Hondo the latest setup
and that would give them bragging rights
