Hey guys it's been awhile since I've posted here! I sold my turbo viper last spring and spring ordered a 2019 zr9000 limited.

I went to the cat forum and honestly that site is a disaster!!!

I've already been poked at by my yamie friends so i have thick skin..lol

Exact same sled, no need to poke fun as they all come out of the Cat factory. Nice thing is, you'll have quiet clutches and more than likely better better belt life too.

Always good to have many from both sides for solving problems or issues, of which there are many with this Cat built machine.

If i did it all again id be looking at the cat myself i think.

After a couple seasons its become pretty clear the cat clutching/gearing/belt combo simply has better belt longevity then most winders. This becomes more apparent when wick'd up too. I have talked with alot of cat guys thru PMs on the other site which is why i feel this way. I still like the winders visual cues better with the cowling nuances for looks, but with many cats leftover each season, their price makes them very attractive. Cat makes belt changes and updates faster i think then yamaha these days . Other then the clutching/gearing/belt, and slight cowling differences the sleds are identical so all the big power and handling is same.

On the other site not much happening there, i think the winder has outsold the cat 998s and likely why many more hangout here. Im sure if i jump over to a 9000 Ill still hangout here too, TY is a great site and in this forum in particular there are alot of smart guys.

Please keep us posted on your belt life once wick'd up, i know many who have no issues at 270 on their cats and even run 22/41 gearing. Myself im going back to my stock 21/41 gearing to see if that helps me.

Welcome back!
Dan

That sled of yours comes with that new fangled 998 Yamaha motor right?
OK, you can come back.
Actually your posts may help us to compare clutches & get some ideas.

You know what they say: Once you go BLUE you always come back.....err something like that
