I changed one rivet in my primary weight by .9 grams. I changed the the ctr rivet from 4.5g to 3.6g and my rpms are now where I want them. I am just wondering what if I had changed the outside rivet to a 3.6g instead of the centre one. What changes to performance would I notice. I though I should change the centre one first to gain more rpm and thought it would help with some belt slippage in the mid range. Just trying to learn.

Is there a guide anywhere that can tell you how a primary clutch works the effects of changing the inside ctr or outside rivets in the weights and changing different primary springs for a yam 4 stroke.

So help me understand. Now that I changed the weight in the centre it will affect my mid range backshift and pull. Where as if I change the tip it would affect my topend even though I my rpm is 8750?

Well I guess if you don't know what you are doing leave it stock and take it to the dealer and pay their big shop rate.

Well, acually I dont see any harm in what you are doin if you got the time. How the clutch is shifting depends a lot in your personal riding style, snow conitions and on/off trail riding...
If you spend most of your time riding in well groomed trails I think its safe to change that way-the Nytro is strong enough to pull hard in the mid range, and my personal experience is that the settings is a bit..."twostoke" in the stock setting, relying too mutch in revving. I have plans to mess around a bit with the clutches before I decide if I am willing to pay Ulmers price.

I do have tryed Ulmers kit in a XTX, and overall U can say that the focus is on the torque compare to stock clutching. You get the feeling that nothing happen until you watch the speedo so to say, the engine is not revving as high as you are used to with the Ulmer kit-but it does kick #*$&@! Midrange is awesome, but ok, you do have to play a bit with other helix aswell if you are trying to keep up with him....
