Put an M10 in...you'll never have to worry about hyfax wear again.

3413 miles on mine with some left. Wore quick to 500 miles and then just stopped wearing. I will replace them this summer though.

No, I didn't buy a kit. I made my own with a set of skidoo wheel supports and affixing them to the rails with the new wheels.
1900km so far, under a lot of low snow conditions, and still minimal wear. It looks like I won't have to swap the sliders out for next season!

Grimm, do you have any Doo part numbers for the mounts??

As I have an old 96 Skidoo, I dry fitted the part to see if it would work and it did. Here's a link to the part (#32 in the pic) I ordered:

I think it's a little overpriced, I believe I paid $25 a piece. Maybe the newer Skidoo supports will work and maybe they're cheaper, I don't know.

Addict,
Yamaha also sells an OEM wheel kit that mounts in the same location as Grimm's. Check the on-line fische (parts at the top of the page) for your sled and you should see them with a dotted line around and the letters "AP".
They are expensive, but you can order all of the parts right from Yamaha and its a direct bolt in installation (holes are already there). To save a fair bit of money you can substitute the mounting blocks from a sled with a monoshock. I think they are identical.
The only downside to Yamaha's kit is it is set up for the narrow idlers so if you want to run 04 RX-1, Skidoo or Polaris wheels you will need to machine 0.060" off the mounting surface.

Thanks Grimm and Rex.Looks like I have another summer upgrade to do.
I too, use some Doo supports. Not only i paid only 5 bucks a piece but also have two support point. That is, you use upper stock hole then drill the bottom one yourself. Must admit, i had to enlarge the groove by a bit with a grinder. .. and yes, it is sized for 6205 baller. Part# is 503190389

too soon
I have 1820 miles on my vector this year on original set of slides and only half worn out. I think people are changing them too soon. Mine wore a lot in first 500 miles and have not worn much since. I think I can get another season out of mine.

I think that is the way: be patient.
On my new Nytro 2007, I did change them at 500 miles 'cause they were thin and I was on the go for a 1800 miles trip.
With the new sets of hifax I have rode 2500 miles so far and they are still good.

I have a 2005 vector and have just over 6000 miles and still have over 1/8 " of wear to get to the wear line on the sliders
