how much better is the mono shock than the proaction skid??

Im considering buying an 04 rx-1 I had an 05 with the mono shock ra rear suspension and I liked it. I have heard the proaction is a rough rider. How much wose of a ride would I get if I bought an 04 with the pro action vs. something newer with the monoshock rear skid??? I like a smooth ride... thanks...
