Has anyone added up what they paid for their sled (new and year it was made, no left overs) plus all the money spent to get it the way we like it and all the little PITA issues we had to fix. I'm sure it will be close to the cost of a 2011. Most issues are resolved for 2011 with alot of new features added. Up here in Canada I paid $12.600 + tax for my 06 GT in Oct 05 with no early bonus at all. Now I'm snow checking a 2011 Apex for $14.800 + tax with $1800 in bonus stuff. In Canada the price was always high so it not that bad IMHO.

I hate to burst your bubble, but no matter what you buy brand new, you will always be sticking more $ into it. I guess there may be some people out there that will leave their sled alone and ride it just as it came out of the crate, but most guys on here (from what I can tell) will always be doing something to it. Just look at everyone's signature on the bottom of the page. Some of the lists are just accessories, nothing to do with performance. Every sled I have ever bought (6 so far since getting back into sledding), I have added or changed something. I always thought the next one I got would be the answer. Guess what, nothing is ever perfect. What comes stock for carbides on the 2011? Do they come with cr10ek plugs? How about handguards, studs, colored wheels, extra marginal snow wheel kits, 4th wheel kit, tank bag, map pouch, and the list goes on. Everyone rides differently too, some want more bottom, mid, or top end. So, some will clutch, change gears, etc. Personally, I won't be close to being completely happy until Yami comes out with a turbo production sled :jump:

And by the way, I'm jealous you're getting a new Yamaha!

I'm thinking more of the things people added to make the sled handle and ride the way they expected it to. I spent $100 on carbides and sliders for my 06 then sold it in May 06. Only issue I had with it was my 03 RX1 would walk away on the big end. I haven't driven a sled since I sold the 06 so I'm hoping the 2011 is ready for the beating it's going to get.
