how to install new slides

i use the old style hyfax, they are narrower, and go right thru the track window when you have to remove, plus less drag, more speed

I cant seam to picture how that reverse method would work... seams like it would pull the slide up under the tunnel... Im guuna give it a try when Im ready to change my slides...

once you have them thru the windows and screws removed, hit the throttle in reverse and it PEELS them off fast!

the narrow slides are all ive ever used,so they fit easier thru windows...you can lube them up good at window.

be sure the sled is hi enough off ground when you do this,so the slide can peel without hitting ground.

funny cause i read this method on this site about 4 yrs ago!....and i thought it was nuts!....but we tried it on buddys sled and voila!...easy!

personally i have always had to do some work on my skid when i needed slides so i always removed the skid....but if you just need slides, this is fast.

since i use wheel kits my slides dont wear out anymore.

I had to do the Reverse method yesterday on a Warrior. Couldn't get it to come out via pounding. Peeled right off with Reverse.:)

turn track

If you are afraid to use the engine to peel them off, use something like a long screwdriver to turn the track. insert it in a window, and pry against the drive axle to turn track.

shanksyamaha, I used to think the same thing. I couldn't figure out how it would work. Think of it this way. It doesn't slide them off. It peels them just like dan said. Basically pulls them right off the rail. Also I spray them down with wd-40 before I take the old ones off and the new ones on but soapy water will work to. I just use wd-40...

I just lay the sled on its side and start with a srew driver through the front with a screw driver under the slide & hit the throttle - zip. I can usually change both trail side in under 10 mins. And going in forward thros the scrap away from you.
