I just got back from a 7 day trip in the U.P.

It was -15 degrees F the first 3 days we were there... My buddy on his new crossfire and i both had cold hands... (bars were hot but would get cold as soon as you stopped or shut off the sled)

My buddy was fed up and came up with this easy and cheap solution..

Believe it or not.. After this fix.. We had to turn our handwarmers to the lowest setting to keep our hands from Burning and sweating..

Zip lock bags and a little black tape..

even after you stop the handlebars are still piping hot (normally they become cold fast)

All you need to do is cut a small hole in the side of the 1 gallon ziplock bag, slide it onto the bars over the throttle or brake lever and tape it to the bar making sure not to obstruct the throttle lever or the brake lever..

I couldnt believe how good this worked... (ya i know it didnt look pretty)

Its crazy how simple they are and how Great they worked..

If i put them on high i could melt my gloves..

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, necessity is the mother of invention especially with sledding.

I sent you a PM awhile ago LOL

LOL...i love it...now maybe yamaha will fix these, cause if yammie sees guys riding with ZIPLOCK baggies that will have to hurt the engineers EGO...dont ya think???....not too mention what the other 3 manufacturers will say!...can you say laughing stock?..LOL

this cracks me up!...

when i used guantlets on my 07 bars they NEVER got hot...warm at best.....i guess our opinion of HOT and WARM are different...LOL,you want hot....you need to feel my setup now!...

another 200 miles ,just got home...ECU still ticking along and still fast..LOL.

My sled wasnt the only sled with poor handle bar heaters. those days when it was -15 out....

My buddys 06 crossfire was as bad as my sled... all the ZRs and Polaris's in the group had good heat..

Im not kidding about the difference the bags made.. They were unbelievably hot... Not just warm..

Brian, great idea, it has been frickin cold out there and you had the ingenuity to make your trip a good one. That is what this sport is about, being resourceful, and it always has been.

Hi Brian,
Can we purchase the bags in sporty colors to match our sleds LOL

on a serious note, I would not have cared if it were a hefty bag, when it was -20 out. I flat out could not ride my sled, until it got Machzdized. LOL

Hey guys...dont get me wrong, when its time to ride who cares HOW we make the FIX,just so we can all have an enjoyable ride right?!!

Just wondering after all the talk about cold hands,I thought EVERY APEX rider owned guantlets at this point!..lol.

I used my guantlets all last season, and YES they make hands toasty...even with the crapola bars..but i got sick of them,as we have alot of traffic locally and really need to use our proper hand signals....

DUDE,glad to hear your ECU hasnt blow up!..hehe....I worry less and less about my FIX everyday, and more and more guys all going to the fix.

Dan
