I had to start my vector this way at the end of last season after my starter died. It usually started on the 2nd pull when cold first pull when warm. It won't hurt a thing as long as you start off with a tight strap. I wouldn't give it a jerk like those guys unless you want to break something else. It's your only option for these sleds the way I see it if you want to use it until you get it fixed.
