HOW WILL THE VECTOR HOLD UP TO 700 MXZ, My buddy just picked up a used 700 mxz. I was just wondering how it would compare to my new vector. He keeps telling me ,that all I am going to see is his tail lights, I said no problem I just will pass you at the first gas station.I hopeing it will not be to bad . what do you guys think? :?

Those 700 Doos are fast....you have a point with the gas station but stock for stock I would say he'll take you. The VEctors are fast as well but I think the Doo may just be a bit faster....not by much.

I think the MXZ 700 will take you by a bit. In fact, I think the MXZ 700 would give the RX-1 all it wants. That was a very quick sled. Every MXZ 700, or even Legend 700 I ever saw race a MXZ 800 beat it easily. They do like to drink the gas though. Blow on past him while he stops for gas and see how long it takes him to catch up... He won't.

I had a 2002 mxz700 adreniline before my vector ,I don't miss it a bit I think the vector will be pretty close in a shorter run. it runs very close to my buddys mxz600 ho rev and that has same hp as the mxz700 they were about113hp and reve is lighter.
I would say it would be very close.

How close are the MXZ 700 and a Viper? My Vector beat my Dad's Viper when they were both stock. Around here, the Doo 700 and 800 are pooches.

If your vector is unstudded and fully broke in,and you always rode it like you stole it,that doo could be very surprised, you may not top end him,but it will be very close in a 1,000 ft. or so,we have an 05 vector all stock that runs 98 mph gps on dry fresh groomed snow, and we have a 700prox with chubby pipe and v-force reeds that only runs by it when the poo is running good, but it still only pulls 2 sleds on the vector top end. Now even when we were breaking the vector in last year,it still got 17 mpg wfo up the rail beds, when all the poos that we had would get 5-8 wfo so you will laugh at him when he has to stop to fill up,and still only pulls 2-3 sleds at best on ya... ;)!

It's funny you say that about that 700POO...a guy I ride with had a 2003 XC700 and that thing was HORRIBLE on gas. 7-8 MPG sounds about right.

2000 mxz 700 is pretty close against a vector the mxz is a 2 mph faster than the vector. The vector beats it up to a 100.If you race against a 2001 or newer mxz 700 forget it.

doesnt really matter to me when i ride who has the fastest sled.
i only got passed once last season.......by a rev 800......and he had to work to find a way around me ;)! i had a 99 srx700....i think that sled would give just about any sled made a run for its money. but the vector put a smile on my face that was hard to wipe off

Well his sled is a 2000, but he just bought a motor on ebay out of 2002.Well I guess its no big deal if he beats me, I still shoud have the sled that will hold up in the long run. If he really piss's me off I will put a turbo in it. Ha ha

tell him to update the clutching it's horribale in the 2000 compared to 2001 and newer.I have a set up that fly's and it gained 11 mph in a 1/4 mile on radar.

His motor come with the 2002 clutching and carbs, we should have it next week , We have to call dyno port as the old motor has there pipes, and I am not sure if we are going to have to change jetting because of the pipes.

Yeha I agree he will get ya in top end. My brother-in-law has a 700 summit with a shaved head and different rotary valve and that thing passed my vector like it was standing still on top end. Up to 90 it was close but my 4 stroker just ran out on the top side. That turbo is sounding more tempting every minute.
