Is there a HP variation between 06 APex and 08 ?
How much HP variation can be between 2 motors ?
Why im asking that.
Yesterday we do some testing. My sled is working really well, have a 08 motor and a Hindle Slip-on Single Pipe.
motor rev 10500-10600
We put the same clutch setting as mine (except 1 gr lighter )in a 06 APEX with a undertunnel Single pipe.
motor can only pull 10100.
Maybe the Exhaust give a little bit more power. But we dont know.
On 3 apex mountain, 2 were close. A stock one 07 with a short track stage 2 setup from Ulmer and the other 06 with my exact setup. Both sled ran closer than mine with the other. The 06 with undertunnel exhaust is still stronger and faster, but the difference is not as much as with mine.
Why can my sled ran 400-500 more revs with the same clutch setup. all 3 sled run a 162 x 16 x 2.5 tracks, 20-40 gearing. 0-100 is fair, 3 sleds are close, but after that, mine ran away fast from other.
I brought an used motor, dont know where it really come from, but Head dont seem to have been changed or even lifted.
I got a 145 Km/h on GPS with 20-40 and the other can only manage a 145-8 on the speedo.
We are searching for an answer. Help would be appreciate

ok, i tell you.
both drivers 210 pounds.
Same tracks
Sled full of gaz
same cluthing
same belts new
Theyre too much difference, i know that we can have a small difference, but that much, i guess not. At least on the result, but RPM wise, why so much variation between boths.

Could be break in methods. If one was broke-in hard and one by the book I'll bet you'd see some differences.
A friend of mine has an '07 Attak that he broke in per Yammi specs and my '06 Attak, (Broke it like I stole it) will spank him every time. I haven't compared RPMs in detail but I think they're a little closer than the difference you had.
Anyways, I might be completely wrong for your situation but it's a theory to explore.

Condition of the secondary, different gearing. That and the fact that no two engines will perform identically, even if they came off the same assembly line on the same day.

gearing is the same, and we swaped Secondary just to be sure.
I will say, my motor perform stronger then.
i saw somewhere that APex have between 148 to 153 HP, maybe mine is a 153 and him a 148, who know.
Thanks

5600 for the 06 , 4900 for 07 and 2000 for the 08.

Do a compression test on the weaker sled and you'll see why.

LazyBastard is absolutely correct with the statement about two of the same engines not performing the same.

I know in the marine industry the rule of thumb was you could expect a 10% differance between two of the same motors.
