Who has done the hurricane kit/upgrade on an xtx? Full exhaust, air box mods, programmer and the clutching. What are your real world results? Top end speed on the dream-o-meter? What kind of sleds are you able to compete with? Change in fuel consumption? The search function on this site is terrible so I gotta ask! Thanks for any feedback!

Give it some time the guys will chime in .... Counting pennies right now to purchase one of these kits myself

Mine has zero miles on it so im just waiting to be broke in! Im wondering if I can just buy these components separately rom the suppliers for cheaper. The only thing that attracts me to this setup is that the power commander comes already set up so I don't have to "plug and play" to try to get it dialed in. There saying this kit makes 18.5hp. I live near hauck power sports. They have header muffler, k&n, and commander combos also but I don't they they are claiming a nearly 20hp gain. So im trying to get to the bottom of it :)

The claims are true, search Mach9 and read his post with his dyno graph...I also ran similar gains except I didn't have the cr10ek plugs and ran a noise reducer which knocks off 1-2hp. I can't really give you any top speed numbers but can tell you that that my buddies F7 didn't stand a chance running a quarter mile. I also out ran a modded Attack in the same distance ( clutched, airbox mod, fuel and exhaust were done to it. ). I've also run Cat 800s ( not H.O sleds ), Poo 800s and other modded Nytros with no issues. As far as mileage is concerned, nothing changed for me at all...I run within 25 cents of an Etech 800...usually me being cheaper, and I'm still running 87 octane. People may see me as being biased as this system was built off my sled and this kit was developed on my sled...which is why I prefer other guys to offer up opinions. Fact is it flat works and is the best bang for your buck!

Thanks for the feedback! I was worried about the fuel range changing as these run such a small tank. It sounds like it doesn't hurt mileage, and as far as performance if youre running with those sleds that's what im looking for. Mine is also an xtx which might even make it a little quicker. What did you do for clutching? I was told they are getting the best results by just upgrading the cam arms in the primary with heavier stock Yamaha ones. Again thank you!

I use Turks black spring Drag n Fly set up, stock secondary and it seems to work great for 1000' to 1/4 mile stuff, but there are a lot of good kits out there that should work the same.

Here is the dyno test from 2 years ago.

Since that time Hurricane has developed better.
I've since switched to using the DB reducer to help with the longer rides.
Did some serious tuning with clutches. Love the primary I'm using.
Was never on radar but on the best of times perfect hardpack lakes running with etec 800s was never a problem. They all back off eventually afraid to damage motors.

Mach9, What primary are you running?

Same type (brand) they use on the new Indy 600, but for a Nytro.
Before everyone calls me a traitor... What could possibly be wrong with a Yamaha primary? Not much really.
The PB80 is quiet, really easy to tune, smooth from early engagement to top and is cut better for closer to overdrive.
Plus it hardly wares. Tons of these were sold to help the premature breakdowns on the first gen Doo 1200 4tec.
I like it allot and when I finally get into a Viper or whatever in the next couple years. I'm keeping it for future use.

I didn't get the hurricane kit but have everything that was included in it....supporting my local yammie dealer....and a good deal to boot

wheres the best place to download a tune for the pc5 and auto tune ?

most perf shops want you to buy something from them and they will provide you with a map to meet all your perf mods even if all wasnt bought from them.
