I'm sure Yammi will follow with the improvement as long as copy-CAT didn't negotiate an exclusivity agreement with Camoplast...
Knowing AC, they probably have some sort of copyright but I don't know. Good idea whoever thought of it.
What's that mean if we copy copy-cat?

I found my interim solution - ear plugs. Works great.
I was looking at the inside of the track this weekend and noticed that the area between clips has witness marks from rubbing on the hyfax... Has anyone considered cutting out the solid areas of the track and going to a every 2 or fully clipped scheme?
Also, does anyone know if the AC track has the ramps on the interior wheel paths? I've only seen pictures that show the outside ramps.

BA The guy at Camoplast said to use a 1" hole saw and drill out the center of the closed sections. It should allow more snow in and he said it will lower the noise by 2 decibels by their testing.

Which Camoplast location did you call and do you remember the guys name? Don't doubt you one bit but I want to hear it for myself, and what if the track develops problems...will they warranty it?? Should one use a holesaw, or something more like you use when you drill out a track for studs?

Good questions. I went to the Camo website and wondered the same thing. I was hoping for an email option on their site but there was none. Keep us posted if anyone else hears anything further.

I talked to a guy named Michel Paridis in the R&D dept. that I was refered to from Customer Service. Just use a regular metal hole saw. He said they do it all the time. It is much easier than cutting the squares with a knife.

Tel: (819) 823-1777 -- Fax: (819) 823-8772
or this one:
R&D Centre
2995 Industriel Blvd., Sherbrooke, Québec J1L 2T9
Tel: (819) 565-3737 -- Fax: (819) 565-7117
Sounds like you talked to the R&D Centre shown above but just want to confirm!!

hi guys
I did cut the block hole of the ripsaw on my rsventure to get rid of the hi-fax wear and stick... Just remove the rubber help a lot for the hi-fax but full clipped the ripsaw really remove a lot of drag. The best mod i did on this machine
unfortunatly, i did about nothing on the track noise.

4200 Km on mine.. your getting close towing. (you seem to be everywhere bud)
I am fully clipped since 2700 Km and put in a new set of slide then. This was a good improovment but it only seems to double the life for me.
I used a knife to open the track... no big deal. Kimpex flat clip with no guide i used.
Next step will be a set of wheels in the back.
As for the noise... no change either.

hi aventure
You propably know that your dealer should install you a wheel kit and hi-fax for free (canada only i think). My dealer confirm me on that. The wheel kit that they pay for is the little wheel kit .
I personnally choose to pay the difference and get the normal wheel kit that will be more reliable and put it in the far rear of the rail where the wear is worst. Be caution at where you put them because these aluminium rails are not very strong and some case of breakage are reported...
Bye

Yeap.. got the wheels for free.
How about the heavy duty rear springs ?
Does anyone could get a free replacement ?
Tellin ya.. cannot switch to an heavier girl friend till i get harder adjustment.
Thanks for the tips about the bigger wheel.
Cannot tell the part# of the clip. All i remember, they were .95 cent a piece, and no guide. Genuine camoplat were $4.20 (wonder why they spare 76 on my track)

Oupsss Aventure
Yours girlfriend ask me to tell you nothing on that
I have the heavy duty springs installed ( on warranty ) for the last 1800 miles (about 3000kms) and it give little improvement but not what i expect. I only weigth 150 pounds and my wife 115 and we were still banging in the bottom to much.
what Starsuspension (bussiness in quebec) make me realise, it's that the rear when we are on the machine (2 peoples) is too low. With a travel of about 8", we are at about 4".... we should be near 5.5" or 6". It is why they develop a new spring cam that allow you to crank the springs on the stiffer side to raise the rear and give at this suspension the travel it should have.
I don't get those cams by now but still trying set-ups. I realize that raising the rear move the weight on the front and make the steering really hard.. have to search more on this case...
I know that some guys had be able to get a rear gaz shock on warranty, it seems to help....
Don't forget to re-inforced the spring cam braket. We had many case of breakage on that one and it is really bad... i expect a major recall soon for that.
