I got beat by a F1000 last night

Wow....LB....I don,t even know where to begin disputing the clutching info your giving cus soooo much of it is bad I will just keep my mouth shut!!!

the ECP is bad? hmmm i figured on going with a full kit, just was not sure of who to go with.... so either ullmer or heavy hitters and 23/40 gearing and some suspention adjustments should make this thing really rip?

I have used every version of hc,s out there. The drag n flies are absolutely deadly in the 4 strokes with the stock secondary. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the yammie secondary set up...as a matter of fact it,s pretty damn good. I run 2 speeds in Turbo rx-1 & about 6 other 300+hp turbo sleds I have personally set up. None of em have grenaded. half of em use the stock secondary set up. HC,s have issues due to improper clutching(too much belt heat) or using an old belt.

Sooo...if my rpm,s are perfect & clutches are cool; where in clutching do I look next for gains????

PM turk.... He knows his clutching.. Heel clicker problems are do to belts blowing. When setup properly they can really shine...

go with what turk or allen ulmer says. those guys will not steer you wrong.

So what you're trying to say is that all of the HC's that have exploded, and even the ones that were recalled due to this phenomenon, are all a figment of someone's imagination? Or are you saying that blowing weights are a result of blowing belts? Because that's a load of crap. Either way, this does NOT make my advise BAD. In fact, the first thing YOU said in this thread is to turbo or nos, THAT IS BAD ADVISE.

go with what turk is saying.i am one of the 300 +turbo sleds that he is talking about and he is the one that clutches it and it works flawless.he also clutched my nytro with drag and fly weights and the sled is way more aggressive with these weights.you will gain more than a few sled lenghts with a properly set up sled ,so take turks advice.he knows.

Thanx fern
LB; if the 1000 cat is running that close to a warrior then something is wrong with it. if the guy does some simple clutching & a Y-pipe it,s not gonna be close due to a 20+ hp advantadge.
Clutching & ecp,s will give 3 lengths to a warrior but will give 10 lengths to the cat.
In equal state of tune you cannot clutch for a to make up for 20hp advantadge.

The local shop here has probably sold more HC kits than anyone except Randy himself. In all the kits he saw exploded, all due to blown belts. Improper clutching, worn belts. Whereever you are getting your information is a load of crap unless you are feeding it to yourself, or you have witnessed a one time deal and are making an assumption that every problem is the same as yours. HC when setup properly are just as good as any adjustable weight out there. Granted some designs were not as good as others. To stereotype them as all bad sounds like someone has been beat by a properly set up HC'd sled.

Turk, you have been around long enough to know that this is what its like to engage in a discussion with LB :o| He has been there, done that, tried that, saw that, heard that, so whatever he says is law. At least to him...

I do know one thing... :yam: :4STroke: :rocks: :tg:

This could get very interesting, to bad it will end up in the dog pile LOL

those cats are really 20hp more? maybe i should get a turbo haha what do you guys think... do some mods to my warrior or leave it stock sell it and buy an apex? all in all i love these new yamaha's i grew up around polaris's and back in the day my dad was a mercury dealer. we still have the first sled he sold and bought it back.. a 1969 merc hurricane, you cant beat the bang for the buck with these. so maybe its not worth doing alot to my RX and just break down and get the apex?
