It is the same puller as the YPZ that was used on about everything since 1984, thru the Viper 700.

How about a part number for that unit? My local Yamaha dealer can order sled parts as long as I have numbers, but they don't have any sled related stuff in the place.DaJudge said:It is the same puller as the YPZ that was used on about everything since 1984, thru the Viper 700.
They can't even search the computers for parts, as they don't sell sleds, so they don't have the database with sled stuff in it.

I dont know the Yamaha part number.
You would be better off ordering one from one of the performance shops. Bender or Pioneer get about $29.00 for them. I personally have had good luck with their pullers. Just remember to put some lube on the threads and end before you insert it into the clutch, this will help reducing friction on the threads of the clutch and the puller.

pullers
Most after maket suppliers on this site have them, or any of the clutch parts suppliers make them as well, i.e. dalton's, etc. etc.

Why are you needing to pull the primary off?

I will be doing a butt load of testing and adjusting the clutches in the next few weeks.ecarnell said:Why are you needing to pull the primary off?
It will be much easier to remove the primary and adjust it instead of trying to work on it while it's in my CAR.
A Car you say??? - yes, car, not sled.
My RX1's in a desert race car and now plays in the dirt, not the snow anymore.
My web site - check under Deztaz at the top of the site and you'll understand.

use either p/n YS-39962 K-M (available from Kent-Moore Tools in California) or p/n's YS-01881-1 and YS 01882-1 (2 pc puller from yammy dealer)...careful of some of the catalog pullers...soft metal..have seen some bend and jam in the crank...
Does anyone know what the thread size is. Years ago I made a 2 piece puller out of a D2 rod and a metric Allen bolt. I lost the bolt and can't remember the size.
