Well it's summer time, and that means time to build the next project. I have a almost new 2012 standard apex 128". I am looking at adding boost in the 250hp range. I want decent traction, but still want real good cornering (which I have now) to keep up with the newer Doo's, and Poo's in the real tight and twisties. I am going to go with a custom set of Ice age rails, and modify a tracks USA extension to match it. I am running C&A rzr ski's, bergstrom triple points, and the 13mm sway bar. The questions are:
1) how good can the apex rail in the corners using a 144 tip up, and larger wheels? Not talking swooping U.P turns, but those tight Wisconsin turns.
2) what is the difference of how much track is really on the ground between a 128 standard, and a 144 tip up? Thought of a 136", but doesn't seem like that adds much unless you pick the piss out of it?
3) anyone have issues with the ice age rails? I can buy them for less than a used skid from someone.
4) if I go 144 just swapping rails, will I have to do the star relocation? I already spaced out my tunnel protectors for studs

Thanks for the help as usual guys ;)!

I have bought 2 sets of ice age rails for my apex's. I had 144" XTX and switched to 136" ice age and wouldn't go back, one sled had a low boost MCX and the other one 290 MCX which has been upgraded considerably and traction is not a problem and handling is even better than the 144" The ice age rails are a quality piece, have no fear buying them.
