What purpose does the wax serve? I've never heard of someone waxing their rails.

just thinking they are painted like other parts. wax would push moisture off them.

never heard of using it in my life....
Icing on p'coated rails is not your biggest issue...I would suggest drilling your hyfax though (assuming your not running Hyperfaxes) so that you get some ice buildup on the holes that are drilled, and will make them last longer etc. etc.

mtdream, How many holes or how far apart and how big do you suggest drilling.

Wax it if it makes you feel good. That does not sound right!
