Where is the best location to mount Ice Scratchers on the rails? I assume the further forward the better....

As far Fwd as possible. Remeber also these were made for MTN sleds, I wouldn't use them going down the trail at 200mph. I've never had a rail crack with them, just mount them in the middle and where you can hook them up when not in use. Also keep them tight!! if they get sloppy and fall into your track they raise all kinds of hell.
