Ice scratchers?

Anyone who has these please respond, Holtzman says to remove your idler wheels all of them and just have the scratchers as they mount inplace of the wheel, I am thinking not a good idea as I already have high hyfax wear. Do any of you run the ones from Maxxperformance or elkolm how are these, they mount with a bolt on top of the rail. Any help appreciated, I like the Holtzman but don't like the idea of giving up my wheels for the install. Thanks

There are several ice scratchers that mount on the skid, along side the bogie wheels. Hartman has a set that mount to the skis, this is the best design IMHO since they spray snow and ice onto the front of the track. These are the units I will be installing.
