Idler Wheel Size on Apex GT?

I have gone through 2 sets of 2006 Apex idlers (first set lasted 300 miles, second set lasted 10!). This weekend my dealer put on 2005 idlers and I rode 100 miles with them. They did not shred, HOWEVER they are dented to hell around the edges. It looks like they will wear out soon as well. I have 144 studs down the middle, which everyone thinks is causing this problem but as everyone knows it is happening to the idlers without studs as well.

My question, what wheels can I get put on that are lasting without any issues?

Thanks

Anyone know the bearing # and do the spoked wheels from Yamaha work without failure? Are the bearings 6005?

Yes this is a very good quality wheel 6005 bearing and it is replacable. :D Problem is many dealers are about out of them and Yamaha is low stock at the warehouse. I do know that Port Yamaha had 4 silver ones. That wheel is about .025 smaller than the ones that came on your sled which isnt much and not a problem if you are not getting much hifax wear.

I had mine replaced at 425 miles with no studs. Second set has about 125 miles and look ok. Leaving for a trip of @1000 to 1200 miles tomorrow and wondering how the idlers are going to hold up.

Second set of rubber covered 06 wheels? If so I would take 2-4 of the spare accessory wheels with you. But not to worry, polaris and skidoo have wheels that fit (just they are taller) I have to think you are going to be close to some kind of sled dealer

Roswell,I have replaced all of the idlers in my gt with the silver spoked ones, including the two outside rear large wheels. They look awesome and have lasted over 700 miles so far with no problem. The rear ones are also much lighter than the stock solid ones.My dealer did foot the bill for two of the smaller ones because I blew the stock ones at 150miles.

Maximum Performance has replacement set of premium ureathane(rubber) wheels. Heavyduty bearing run great. Those solid hard plastic 05 oem wheels don't look good to me. studdog.

you want 03-04 rx1 wheels...be sure to locktite the nuts as the bearing is wider and stock bolts just barely grab locknuts.

we installed them and perfect with studs....plastic 05 wheels are junk.
