I need a few idler wheels for the 08 apex. I took one off today and bearing is no good, and not replaceable, kind of a dumb set up. I purchase one for now and it was 35 bucks cad from yamaha dealer and is one with replaceable bearing. Is there anywhere to get these cheaper? I checked Royal Dist but couldn't find them in catalauge and didnt see any of the 60005 bearings.??

I would remove the seal on the bearing, clean the rollers with some wd40 blow dry with air and then repack with some new grease.

take all the different size berrings to a shop..ask them to match them..buy them by the box..6 in a box..from the place I get mine...they cost me 4 $ each berring..as far as the wheels...just another way to get money...lol..

And if you need the rear 7" idlers, order the newer spoked ones, part no. 8HF-47550-20-00. Yamaha finally smartened up and put replaceable bearings. Same thing for the smaller 130mm idlers, 8HF-47310-10-00, but I would go with the Excell 135mm wheels instead there.

What advantages and disadvantages (if any) of larger wheels? Also about the seal removal, how do u put it back in so it stays! I'd like to grease the driveshaft bearing but afraid to pull seal and not get it back in. Thanks.

The seals go back in very easily. You can run your fingernail around the outside edge to make sure if you want. I use a scribe, or pic to gently take them out.

Ok will give it a try. For the driveshaft bearing do u just use greese needle to inject between rollers?

The original rear axle wheels won't allow to remove the seals. Just injecting grease into them might work but if there is any rust or water in there, they'll still self destruct. Best thing is to replace them with those I quote above.

Now if you mean the front driveshaft, it should be cleaned and re-greased. Tutorial:

I have had great luck with Kimpex 04-116-96S wheels for the center ones. They are listed as 130mm, same as the stock ones but they are a bit bigger.

Kimpex makes a replacement for the rear ones too but I don't have the number. They are also a bit bigger than the stock ones

Both have replaceable bearings

Ya I saw the 10 pack, not the 6005 though. Not sure the difference in size yet, battery dead in my calipers......I did buy one from Yamaha but want to try something different, maybe. I might just try the kimpex from royal like mentioned above, but, do they have a different sized bearing, or is it the same size different part number. Thanks.

Mooseman, the one I got from yamaha is part
# 8HF38-01-BK. Only difference I can see is a "spoke idler bogey " it says on pkg. Is the part # you mentioned above for the center wheels the same or what would the difference be between the 2 part #'s if you know?? thanks.
