Well folks, finally made it out to another National Asphalt event. The last one we were at was in Brainerd a couple of years back. I could have ran my sled here, but chose not to and it's ok as I get to watch everything instead of wrenching and getting ready. Quite a few of the boys from the Winnipeg area are running their cars here this weekend, the big ones to mention are Scott McVey and Kenny Lang, both of which are still in the running in the Alcohol Funny Car and the Pro Modified classes as they both qualified today. Kenny Lang was # 1 Qualifier in his class last year and today he qualified in #2 spot.
We also have a fellow sledder running in the bike/sled class, and the only sled running here. Now I wish I would have brought mine. He hangs out on TY here a bit, not sure right now what his id is as he wasn’t around today and one of his buddies (Niel, I believe) was running his sled. He managed a 9.00 ET or so at around 145mph. His sled was hoping for the first 600 feet or so. He was telling me that he is usually in the high 8’s. I saw him put a 148mph or so on the board yesterday. Anyway here are a couple of pictures that I snapped…
Oh yeh and then there are these crazy guys running these Nitro Bikes, 200mph!!!! Those are pretty wild!!!!

Sorry Matt I didn't have one to give to him, yikes I don't think I have one on mine.

Hi HLMRX1 Darin at E&S motorcycles told me that you were coming out to Edmonton with your sled. You should of stopped by and chatted, I was there friday and sunday. And thanks for posting some pics of the sled.It was faster with 85 less H.P.Put bigger turbo, suspention and nitrous and it goes slower. To many changes at once, but slowly coming around. The driver was Neil from Neils power pipes in Edmonton he builds custom pipes and turbo stuff for sleds and bikes.Smart guy. Next year bring the sled out as we should have more sleds next year with my brothers turbo and that V-Max 4 that was in the trailer and Darin from E&S.

Sorry we missed ya, with all the rain delays and such, I only saw your sled run twice or so. It's a long ways to bring the sled and not get to run. Did you guys finally finish off Monday? Noone in my group wanted to go there another day. We'll see how things go next year, maybe we'll have the turbo'd Apex on the tar by then.

I hear ya, long way to come and watch the sky.We ran once on sunday and were done.we broke out with a 8.90 at 137 he spun ,let off got back on and lifted at what he figures was 1000ft.I did go back on monday at noon to pick up the trailer and they just finished the racing. We hope to see you next year with or without a sled.
