My new Mountain Mod seat arrived. I ordered it to fit an Apex since my 09 Vector LTX GT is in the DBII chassis. I would like to change the seat over and hope it fits correctly. The first thing I need to ask is how do I correctly take off the existing seat? I'm not the greatest of mechanics but don't think this would be over my head. Also I was wondering if anyone else has done this and is there any info I need to know before beginning. Would hate to melt it etc... This is a pricey seat and would hate to install it wrong or have problems along the way. Mountain Mod didn't say if there would be any modifications needed but I don't believe so. Looks alot different than my stock seat. I looked back on this site to try and find a similar post but can't seem to find one although I remember one like it. All helpful information will be GREATLY appreciated! I'm excited to get this on. Thanks

If it is like the Apex go ahead and read the article below. It has directions that go to the seat removal.

Thank you very much for the info Shivesy! It doesn't sound difficult but don't know until I'm there. I'll give it a try. Hope it goes together okay. Don't think I'll need any extra material. Just old one off-new one on I believe. Can't wait

AAHH, it won't be that simple. At the very least you'll be adding wiring for your taillight. When I did mine I also had to create the opening in the seat base for the stock taillight bracket to slide in to. There is aslo no provision for the front of the seat basw to slide under the gas tank like the stock seat. Mine was a used purchase, so it already had velcro on the seat portion. Had to find and install velcro on the tunnel. NOT a difficult job, but time consuming. Any other questions, fire away

Oh no,, sounds like now it's going to be an off season job with some help from friends. That's okay the seat is nice. Looks like the riding position will be higher. Very lightweight seat. Thought they forgot the seat until I opened the box. Kinda knew it was too good to be easy. Thanks Viper_Dave. Anything else I need to know off-hand? Anyone else have a Mountain Mod seat? Or know anyone that has one and likes it?

You'll probably have to remove the rubber bumpers from your stock set as well. BE CAREFUL!! A couple of mine tore while removing them. Lift the edge and put a little lubricant under them while removing and reinstalling them in the MM seat. I love mine! Taller and more narrow, the foam has stayed stiff as well. I swapped my stock Attak seat for an 06 Nytro seat and it was better, but still packed down on longer rides. This seat hasn't done that. Fit is VERY close to stock, and yes, it's WAY lighter.
