Hello...

Long absence here as I no longer own my Yamaha Attak. But I absolutely LOVED the 1.5 inch Intense track I had put on it (you can find my past ride reports if you search the archives here I'm sure), and recently I was researching new tracks for my new Dragon 700 Switchback. In the end I chose the same track for it. But I came across some new info I figured others may be interested in hearing:

Camoplast 9800C Intense 1.5" x 136" x 15" track has been changed from clipped/closed every third to being fully clipped. Consequently the weight spec has changed from 41 lbs to 44 lbs. There have been no other changes to that track.

This is info I received in an email reply direct from Camoplast, and confirmed when I ordered and received my brand new Intense track for my Dragon. I chose the fully clipped configuration this time for my Dragon, I presume it will be awesome. My 07 Attak had the clipped every third version and I added SLP wear pads in the closed windows. It was likewise awesome both on and off trail.

If you buy from a popular and high volume track retailer that maintains inventory, like Tracks USA, and you don't specify your desires, you may get old stock, which are clipped/closed every third (Bruce told me he has a lot of old stock 9800C's in his hands right now). If you buy from a low volume track dealer with no inventory, they're more likely to order direct from Camoplast...and the new ones out of the factory will be fully clipped. Camoplast's website has not yet been updated with this new spec, nor have most retailers' catalogs.

The debate of which is better will go on forever, but for a while here you will have two clip configurations on this track, if you're smart on how you place your track order. Just thought I'd share.

I miss this site...always loaded with good info, and Polaris owners have no comparable dedicated site to go to that gets any quality traffic. So I thought I'd share a bit of my own here that impacts all brands.

And in closing: Here's a quick shot of a REAL sled before making my mods. (That's just a little joke there...the few of you who remember me know that I am not a brand basher, and clearly not brand loyal to anyone.)

peace out.

Hey craze1 good to hear from ya. Thanks for the info. You should like your Dragon My buddy loved his. He was even thinking about moving his to a 136" this year. Don't be a stranger.
