last week we installed the slp anti-wear pads on my 07 attak gt
got to ride for 3 days up in hurley area this past weekend and now i have a severe vibration all the way up through the handlebars at speeds over 35 mph
im talking like a numbing where you have to take your hand off and rest them ...
anybody have any thoughts or ideas?
has anybody had this happen after intstalling the pads?
thanks,mark

I didn't have this problem at all with the pads on my Attak.

Are they not torqued down tight enough? Maybe they're sticking up too high so they're slapping hard against the leading end of the hyfax? Mine are torqued down so the edges of the pads are just starting to depress into the rubber of the track.

Beyond that I have no idea, other than you just need to study the track as it goes around and see what is hitting what.

Obviously the easy solution is to just take them off and forget 'em. Would certainly be a small waste of time and money, but these things aren't that critical to have.

Good luck...

No Problems

I added the wear pads, no vibrations or other problems in the 1500 miles with them on.

Did you notice the vibes right away, or could it be some ice build up in the tunnel??

Any idler wheels delaminating?

Check for sea weed and stuff like that from riding on the beech seeing you're from Florida.
Seriously, I have installed them on 3 different sleds with nothing but excellent results. Worse case scenerio is you take them back out. The holes left behind won't hurt anything. You might also want to consider just cutting the rest of that window out anyways.

I have them on 2 sleds with no problems and the folks that posted above have not had any problems. I hope you don't take this the wrong way but I would have to say that you must have installed them improperly.
Maybe your track is not aligned or your track tension is to tight? It's a simple aftermarket add on that I have read only good comments about. Never have I read that the pads vibrate to the extent that you are experiencing or even vibrating at all. Good Luck though.

sea weed,thats funny... ;)!
the vibration came on right after the pads were installed so i can only assume its an install issue.
i rode with them on for 3 days, hope i havent damaged anything.
thanks everyone for the quick input :rocks:

3300 MI. with anti-wear pads have never had vibration at all, i don't see how it could make it vibrate
