Holy crap is this thing light
I was gonna wait to install it until I got my Boss seat but I can't wait to hear how she sounds. I'll get it in there in the next night or two and will report back on my thoughts. I can say one thing right now, this is a quality piece of work

your gonna be real happy with it between my father and my warriors ( 03 and 04) we each have 11000 miles on these pipes and have been great, we get alot of comments on the sound a negative response just gets a giant brap past their group, when i weighed the pipe vs the stocker alst fall i got a 12.5 lb savings with the heat sheild reinstalled on the pipe, this summer i may look into ceremic coating it for mopre weight savings

Congrats Mighty!.....should sound real nice
Hey Cowboy...could you explain....How would you save weight? I'm thinking you mean you could then remove the heat shield?? Am I correct?

Good point cowboy, there isn't a heat shield. Is that something I should be concerned about?

well i re riveted on the long narrow heat sheild on the bottom of the pipes the last two seasons , id guess you could get rid of that one, but the ones i was refering to were the ones that are undre the seat that seperate the seat from the pipe, mountain performance has a comment about this on their site , thats what i think they mean atleast

Right now Bender is knocking off $40.00 from $399 to $359.
Looking at the pipe again, I have to comment again on the quality workmanship
Bender appears to have copied the crossover closest to how Yamaha did it. I remember reading the problems Yamaha had on the exaust. They couldn't get the torque high enough until they installed a crossover.

mighty w how loud is it? Do you think you will have a problem in Mich. with the noise level? I have gotten a couple tickets in Mich. for loud pipes. I want to do something with my RX1s. Any ides how they are next to the white knuckles ? Thanks in advance.

I have been told that this loud version is comparable to White Knuckles quiet QC-1. I'm installing it tonight and will let you know. In the mean time RX-1 Cowboy has clips of his in the photo section, I copied one for you to listen to below. Those clips are what made the decision for me. I think they sound just right

I just spoke with Mike at Benders about the heat shield and he said to simply use the stock ones. That's why they included a little baggy with some rivets for re-attaching. One of these days I'm gonna follow my wifes lead and read the instructions that comes with things I buy

Dude, you are gonna love this pipe. when you listen to it for the first time, make sure you can spin your track so you can get the RPMs up to about 9000. This thing sings around 8000 to 9000 RPMs. And yea you will get the looks when you go by people but I never heard anyone complain yet. As Mike said the install and fit of this pipe is awesome but you should try to get new donut gaskets from your dealer to install in the new pipe. Getting the old ones out is almost impossible and if you do get them out, they look as if your dog chewed on them for a while. It sounds great and I'm sure you will like it.----Cubby
Mighty I must be getting old. I ran the Bender last year and it did sound great but it sure got loud at the end of the day. Dukester just gutted his and added some part (?) inside and it was perfect.
