Just installed my trail tank. The installation wasn't too bad.

The fit and finish looks great. Just a little trimimg of the side panels and center panel makes the fit almost look like it was right from the factory. I can't believe Yamaha wouldn't use these tanks as factory.

Actually working on the Nytro compared to my '07 Attak
seems allot easier.

Can't wait for snow.

I'm still on the fence about shelling out the cash for one. I kind of sucks coming down to the wire and pulling up to the pump and putting 6.8 gallons or so in :o|

I hated being the guy who is almost out of gas...instead of riding like you wanna ride you end up trying conserve fuel. After I put my trailtank in that is not the case anymore! No more worries...that f6 will always run dry before me.

If you're thinking about it, I say go for it, you will be very happy you did. I got the clear so I could see for myself how much was left...just in case the gauge takes a crap on me.

This. For years, including the first year on my FX Nytro, I was the first one looking for gas and I hated that. Last winter, with my Trail Tank, I enjoyed playing in the drifts, etc while others conserved gas and I still had 50 km on them.

Just installed mine , all in all went pretty well but the seat just won't go back in all the way and the holes from the brackets wont line up with the ones on the tunnel, its about an inch back and have the same gap between the seat and the tank , anyone else had this issue ? :drink:

anyone got some good close up shots of the fit and finish. I assume that this latest version looks much better than the earlier ones. Really wish they could make a way to use the dzeus (sp) fasteners.

Anyone got a rearmount turbo installed with one, as I believe they were supposed to work better for that also.

Thanks

I had to be sure the wire harnesses were loose and away from the tank and pushed the tank forward really hard. My seat lined up perfect. Actually I think the gap between the tank seems slightly greater.

The hardest part I had was lining up the center shroud with the top tank bolt holes.

My trailtank install and dzeus fastener mod. I'll modify the fasteners for a small fee or you can find a local machine shop.

Was finally able to sneak it in there , fit kind of snug, had to push the tank in a bit more , needed a bit of elbow grease I guess, then end result looks pretty good I must say , will definitely have the dzus fasteners machined like grizztracks , looks oem and surely easier on the thumbs.
Thanks for the input guys.
