Is there a trick to making sure that the reverse "forks" are sitting in the right place as you slide the cover back on?

get a light in so you can see, lift forks up and drop the tabs into the slot on the bottom gear as the cover is pushed in. if you have an extra set of hands, get them to hold the coolant hose out of the way, and maybe the light.

Keep trying, you'll be amazed at how easily it slips in without realizing it. A chance in a hundred.

i installed my cobra track yesturday. I was also having a hard time with the chaincase cover . I disconnected the reverse tie rods, somehow it wasn't allowing me to pull the tabs high enough. Maybe it wasn't necessary or maybe i was just not trying enough, but i got the job done.

if you remove the linkage right from the fork arm it allows much easier reassembly. Trust me I have done it a few to many times. Maxdlx
