I bought a set of Kimpex mirrors from Dennis Kirk, but they didn't come with any installation directions. The set I got is:

They are supposed to fit my 2006 RS Venture GT, but I can't figure out how they go on. I even took off the windshield thinking they might fit under it somehow. Does anyone have these mirrors on their sled? If so, how to you put them on?

I think it mounts to the handlebar riser, but I'm not sure.

It looks like to me that they attach to the windshield just like the Venture mirrors do. That straight bar goes behind the dash pod and the mirrors attach to the windshield by drilling holes through the windshield and bolting to that straight bar. They are a Yamaha knock-off. 05 RS Vector ER.

I sent the mirrors back to Dennis Kirk. I didn't want to drill holes and that bar seemed like a dumb set-up. I am going to get some mirrors that mount to the handlebars with a few screws and bolts. No modifications to windshield and from searches on here, it seems like that style works the best.

What mirrors are you talking about? The same ones shown in my link or another set? I was thinking of getting some handlebar mounted ones from Yami Canada but not sure they will fit 06 Vector.

I have the same style mirrors from Yamaha on my 2005 RS Rage. Yamaha provides drill templates for the windshield and fairing parts as part of their mirror kit. The metal brace needs to be installed under the fairing for support. These mirroes took about an hour to install but work very well. They also fold back for trailering under a cover. The Yamaha kit costs about the same as the Dennis Kirk ones--I'd order the Yamaha mirrors and enjoy your ride.

X2 what Frano said. IMO best mirror available for RS chassis.

Those mirrors from Dennis Kirk are the same Yamaha offers. They are very sturdy because of the cross brace. Yes, you need to drill some holes, but you need the template for that. Probably the same price from your local Yammi dealer. Very good mirrors IMO.

One quick suggestion....unless you like the symmetry of two mirrors, I would suggest only installing one on the left hand side. Its the one you will use 99-100% of the time.
My sled came with two mirrors, and I can honestly say that I have never ever used the right side mirror while riding.
