Found the noise I kept hearing when accelerating. I had looked at the intake boots on the trail and they looked to be on all the way. So I thought it was exhaust. After replacing donuts with copper ones and taking out for a long run (100+miles) on the trails I still could hear the noise and it seemed to be getting worse. So today I took the shrouds off and looked at the intakes again. They looked to be on, but I decided to pull the air box cover and filter to check it out and then I was able to see the boots were not on the bottom half of the throttle bodies(noise I was hearing). The clamps are tight, but some how pulled off the throttle bodies. I got them back on after removing the bottom bolts holding the air box and working them back on using my fingers inside the air box horns and pushing at the same time. Seems to me these clamps should be tighter. I would think 1-2mm removed from the clamps may allow them to be a little tighter(similar to exhaust clamps), but they are a bitch to get at and think I will wait till summer to do that.

Hey Pete,
If you get a K&N filter kit from Ulmer he recommends you remove the round spacers from the intake boot clamps. I overlooked this the first time around and the intake boots would slide right off the throttle bodies. I would ditch those spacers when you go to put it back together. That way you can get the boots tight enough to actually stay put. The spacers are between the two ends if the clamps. The allen screw goes right through it.

Thanks for the info. Its definitely they way I will go.

Pete
