Is anyone using the camoplast 1 1/4 ripsaw quiet track with the pads that are supossed to be quieter and make the wheels roll easier?

I am thinking of buying one but want input from someone who has used it.

thanks

track

Got one on my 06 RTX and its a great track for what I want. RTX was used with studs and had drone. Ice Ripper Quiet is just that, very smooth and drone is gone and does a good job on icy corners. Hook-up not like studs, not a track for racing if your looking for hole shot.

I had one on for 5000mi with 96studs with double backers. It held up good,no studs ever pulled through.I sold it this year ,and went with a cobra. It has the same internal lumps (cat design) as the other but hooks up 10 times better. My dealer has the new Cobras for $350+shipping. I think he has the rip saws for about the same also.

I take it you liked the track??

Did you notice it any noisier or vibrated?

Did your wheels vibrate on the little pads?

thanks for the reply

It's nice and smooth, and all the way up over 100mph. This one is open every window, cliped every 3rd, so it is fairly light. It don't make any noise, all i hear is exhaust and intake. I had a 05 vector with a noisy track so I know what your asking, and you don't hear this one. I do belive the little ramp bumps help cancel out harmonics.

I bought one of these things a few years ago from RV Sports in TRF and put it in a Arctic ZR. Although it was quiet I believe it is heavier than a regular Ripsaw. Since then I have been buying tracks as needed from Bruce at Tracks USA. Bruce says that there are many different kinds of Ripsaw tracks out there. What makes them different ranges from durometers of the track itself and of course the clips and whether or not the windows are all open or not. Lightest is usually fastest. This is one reason the original RX1 and the '01 AC ZR 800 had the goofy conical lug tracks as stock equipment. Useless in most conditions except absolute top end but they were very light tracks. If you were to check back on gearing I'm pretty sure the '03 RX1 was geared higher than any of the Apexes currently are. I still believe it was faster down an ice road than anything Yami has ever made. Given the speedos are not and never have been accurate but my old '03 indicated 137 down that endless stretch of no resistance 6 years ago.

gearing on the apex and rx were the same stock 24-38, with a few model exceptions. the 03 conical track was fast but i think the lug pattern and low profile made it fast, not the weight. pumping air into the tunnel takes power and the conical was only one inch lugs. my next track i will look into a quiet version as that drone drives me off the deep end at certain speeds.

Interesting. I have gone to the ZX2 which in my opinion is far superior to the Mono. Since this change I have definitely found out that the exhaust noise I was complaining about is actually track noise. This noise on mine is especially annoying between 5500 to about 6800, then quite after that. No problem if on a nice flat straight away, but where lower speeds are required it's a pain. Not a fault of the ZX2. Had more of a problem with the mono, but the ZX2 provided a better definition of where the noise was being emitted.
