i have seen Td base hp is 212 and powertrail hp is 265 for a 53 hp gain. Hurricane base hp is 188 and the 240 race is, well you know, for a 52 hp gain. So with the numbers I have found td wins by 1hp but really the hurricanes tune makes more gain percentage wise from stock hp.
Td 53hp=25% gain
Hurricane 52hp=27.66%
I would like one of these tunes if I’m correct with my base hp numbers. I’m leaning towards the 240 race for the early rpm spooling also seems like it may be more tolerant of 87 octane in a pinch. I have heard nothing but good things about both tunes on here so I’m sure I would be happy with either. Has anyone rode both tunes? What would you buy? I would buy the tune, quietest muffler I can, and their clutching as a package and maybe flasher with more tunes or to go stock.

first thing is don't wrap your self up in the hp # . for starter both tuner have excellent tunes and r very closely matched , also clutching and gearing play a huge part to the success of a good tune , traction and studs also ,

I am running the TD stock muffler tune bundle with flasher and Dalton clutching. You can't tell by looking at it or hearing it that anything has been done. Runs really strong on the PT map and runs like an animal on the Max Spool 16 tune. I haven't ridden any of the Hurricane stuff but haven't heard anything negative about it either. The multiple tunes offered for the stock muffler by TD is what sold me on them. Later as I upgrade my parts for more HP they will add the proper tunes.

I was just wondering if the tunes were comparable or in the same class. I want as much hp as I can get and still be quiet, reliable, and be able to run 87 if need be. Also don’t want to mess with clutching or gearing all the time so I want a package deal,( kind of set it and forget it.)

The tunes are neck and neck from the drag results I've seen. Either one will more power than you realistically need for the trail. I like the Dalton products better than other components I've tried. Cooler clutches and better belt life. Traction becomes an issue quickly. I have 144 studs with 1/8 in penetration and it was fine for stock HP. Now it spins the track every time I get on it hard. Probably put 192 1/4 penetration on for next year. With the max 16 tune i never go over half throttle unless i have a lot of room. Gets to tripple digits crazy fast.

240R is a great trail tune. More power than you need for sure. My preference for the high mile rides. The 270/280/290's are faster for sure but not needed for trail riding and have the downside of higher IAT and a little pickier on clutching. I have run 126 on 240 with no problem, unless you are running other boosted turbo sleds it's all you need.

We have a nice trail package that includes the hurricane trail quiet muffler,240hp flash and clutch arms. The muffler is a new muffler that looks stock and is quiet but without the stock tin sound. The muffler is designed for use where exhaust mods and noise are prohibited. To my knowledge, not one fine issued when arriving at police check points with the hurricane trail quiet muffler.the flash is bulletproof and includes knock detection and protection as well as shows your boost on dash. We include the clutch arms applicable to your sled and flash preloaded.
Your sled will look stock, sound awesome and be reliable for years of riding

I like that it has heat shields and the mount for stock upper heat shield.

I think this the flash I would get if I where to flash my ECU. I currently have the Excell stage one kit and although I like the power increase, I still am on the fence on the muffler noise....
Any info on MPG on the 240 kit????

Everybody gets different mileage due to there riding style, so I will just say my mileage improved with the 240R tune over stock.

1/4' penetration ain't gonna cut it with 265 hp, unless your running a 162" track.... Get some longer studs

Trail riding in Northern MN at a good pace, not with the wife or kids, I get between 14.25 and 16 pretty consistently..

I'm not drag racing and I like the rear end to slide sometimes when I want. I just need a little more than I have right now.

Well it’s alot of weight to be spinning around with just 1/4” of penetration. You’d be better off running fewer longer studs then running a shitload of useless ones.

You're right. Brain fart. I'm at 3/8. Might just put in slightly longer studs for next year.
