Is there a performance difference in 04 helix rub buttons?

I see in Snowtech that Yamaha has changed the profile of their helix rub buttons on the RX-1 for 04. According to Snowtech:

"The button profile has been changed to improve the performance of the multi-angle cam. These buttons are interchangeable as a complete set with the previous ones and could be considered for any Yamaha model using an aftermarket multi-angle helix for the same reasons."

I read this and called my dealer and asked him for pricing on these new buttons. The 04 Yamaha part number is 8ER-17688-00. They retail for around $11.00 and some change. You can get them from Tracy's world of cycles at 1-800-860-0686 for under $8.00 each.

I received a package yesterday with three of these buttons. I guess my dealer thought I really wanted a set (actually I was just asking). They look very similar to the 03 buttons but they are quite a bit taller. I will give them a try and see if there is any noticable difference.

Have you guys with an 03 and an 04 noticed any difference? PB

i notice that also . so i also bought some 04 to try as im using multy angles . i have a 3 new helix from dalton to try as part of my sponser and 1 of them i got them to make me special with 3 angles ,so im going to try those 04 . and my new roller secondary . i know got a cat shaft to fit my rx1 with a new 04 cat roller i will also try on my rx1 with custom helix
