Is this much play normal in this chain

Hi everyone, is this much deflection normal on this smaller chain? I have a 2015 viper Ltx

I dont see much information on this smaller chain , just info on how to adjust the main chain.
From the video it looks like the larger chain was well out of adjustment as there was at least a quarter of am inch of space of play which you can see at the end of the video.
I've since adjusted that one to finger tight then backed off a turn and a half.

Look at the inside of your chaincase cover. there are glides in there that remove the slack in the smaller chain when the cover is installed. Parts #45 and #46 below.
