Anyone have a problem with the parking brake caliper rubbing on the brake rotor after a jack shaft bearing being replaced? I have an 03 that was updated with the 04 bearing and locking system. The dealer has pulled the bearing twice now trying to get the original alignment back. I am to the point of shimming the caliper and calling it good.

I don't believe that it is at all possible for the disk to be offset from correct position. Parking brake never sat right.

Jack shaft
LB: I was concerned the dealer somehow did not get the shaft back right, but I was with him when he did it the second time and the install looked fine to me. It was just curious I didn't have the rubbing until after the repair. It is not rubbing on the brake pad side, but is on the outside of the rotor, metal to metal. Barely rubbing, but I can hear it once in a while. If I put a very thin washer on the studs where the caliper mounts on the chain case, it will give me the clearance I need. Is there another adjustment to pull it off the rotor? Pete

I'm actually not in a position to look at it myself. I can't recall if there was any adjustment. It seemed like it was on a spring for self-alignment.

Thanks LB: I will take a look. I agree that it would be tough to screw up the alignment. I guess I have to believe the caliper got out of adjustment and address the issue by moving it, and assuming the shaft is ok. The sled ran fine, but it did have an annoying noise periodically.
