anyone here have a ECP kit on there Rx-1 and ride in the moutains..??

I need to know what jets i would need for Wyoming?? Im guessing around 10,000 feet..

THanks

Brian

I would guess 160 ish. Maybe a little lower. I was using 165s w/the ECP kit at 3-4000 feet. That was with a gutted exhaust.

Even though I highly respect the opinion of Jonnyrocket (thanks for letting me ride your sled J) I think for the higher elevation you ride you should be more in the 150-155 jet range.

I'm using 160 mains at 3-6,000 feet and they work very.

Make sure you use the prefilters with the filters and an EVAC kit just in case you tip the sled over.

I have 155's on my 03. I ride from 8,000' to 10,000'. I run a Bender exhaust though. Hope this helps.

how big of a variance can you go and still be o.k.

Could you ride from 5000 feet to 10,000 feet with 155 jets and be O.K.?

Weltracer, I think you could.

I use 160 mains from 3-6,000 feet. Now this is a WAG but I'd probably use 155s from 6-8,500 feet and 150 from 8,500 to 11,000. maybe there's a 152.5 jet size?

I wrote jetting chart for the ECP filters a couple years back and posted it. Maybe it's on the ECP forum?

this is what i ran.ecell pipe ecp at home 165.went to wyoming last year and i ran 160.it ran great.just make sure you have coolant shut off on your carbs.also if you can buy the largest piece of pre-filter that slp has and cover all of your hood vents.

I was in WY last year with my Warrior, started with 160's, went down to 155's. Ran better but never good until I added, the collant shut off, and check your float height. Then it worked great from 6000 to 10,500.

I know this has been discussed ad nauseum on some of the other forums and I've considered doing this mod (frankly though because I like the way it looks). They are clearly proving gains on the dyno but did you notice any real world difference?

I just put the cr10ek plugs in and could swear my throttle response was a bit better but probably because they are clean. I'm running stock airbox, jets, and springs but modded R1 bike can exhaust. The old plugs did have a little whitish residue on the electrode but the rest of the color was good.

Could you guys also mention what other adjustments are done to the carbs when you go to the K&Ns i.e. is there a needle height, fuel/air screw etc. that you changed? Thinking about just buying the parts as opposed to the kit if I can get the right info.

Thanks, Mark

does anyone one have the yamaha part number for the 155 jets??

My dealer cant find them

Thanks

Can i just take the rivets out of the clutch weights and ride it.???

I know yamaha recommends a primary spring change and gearing change also..

I rode out of togette wyoming this spring,I ran the 165 mains in my sled but had to drop the needles(Raise the clips) as far as they would go.I took as much weight out of my supertips as I could and put the stock helix in it with the white secondary spring.I definatly recomend a coolant shut off If you dont allready have it,as RATPACK& RXWON mentioned.

We started out at 6000 feet and rode up as far as just under 11000 feet.My rpms were 10000 to 10100.

Im shure it was rich with the 165 mains but I never had any problems because of it.Oh and I was geared way down 20/ 38 I think it was.
