Hey guys I've got a '04 Rx-1 and I just recently gutted the exhaust, I was wondering if I should have to change the jetting at all to compensate for the exhaust? This last weekend it got a hesitation around 5-6k rpms and if you go from idle to WOT it has a hesitation, but anything above 6k it runs fines.
I know the carbs arent dirty as I just cleaned them and the only other modification to the the machine are green Holtzman CV springs.
Any input is appreciated
Thanks!

no jetting required when exhaust changed only when adding air from the filter side

stock jets are 135. these are lean from the factory. in 03 we did some expermenting and saw gains jetting up to 137.5. the hesitation could be plugged pilots. on 2 strokes you jet down for power, on 4 strokes you jet up.

jetting
It would be a good idea when this happens to stop and reed your plugs. Upsizing your pilot jets is also a good idea especially if you notice any popping from your exhaust while in the 6ooo rpm range. You can also play with your e clip position.

The carbs are clean I did them twice just to be sure, im thinking its more gotta do with the CV springs now. When I pulled the plugs they were all 4 a nice golden tan color, so that is why I came here to ask. Im going to try and go back to the stock CV springs, and maybe bring the needles up 1 slot to see what happens!
Thanks guys

Did you "rod out" the pilot jets. I gently use a bristle from a wire brush. Also, something could have come in after you cleaned them. I did mine twice also. I ended up rodding the Pilots and could not believe how much larger the jet really was, after it was clean. Had the same symptom as you, until they were really clean.
