well i was looking and couldnt find any used nytros for cheap around here. so i drove a 06 summit 800 144. and i am amazed at how light and how much power they have compared to the nytro i drove on the same day with a 1.75 track. the nytro was a 09 xtx. 144x1.75 track and it lifted the skis for maybe 40 feet on the lake i was on. so my dealer has a 07 summit 800 154 track for 6,500 with a whole new engine in er. so im going to trade in the phazer and go with the summit. i may be on a nytro in the future.

I wonder why that '07 summit has a brand new engine in it...

Yes but it takes less time to change an engine than it does to change your A arm bushings.

Good to know, as I've just changed my bushings, and it took about a full day, and now need to change the engine... ;)!

maybe after the next time the engine gets replaced we'll have a better understanding :4STroke:

personally I don't think I could go back to a 2 stroke, let alone an 800. best of luck dude!

I only paid $7k for my 2009 nytro XTX with 2400 miles on it, mint condition.

Good luck with the Summit mx1500. It's all in where/ how you typically ride. You can't beat our 4 stroke yammi's on the trail. I'll always have an apex of some sorts for that.

But off trail Yamaha just does not have great options IMHO in their current offerings. The Nytro is just not for me. I love my Mt Viper for off trail riding and god willing i'll always have it for that. Arctic Cat would be my choice right now -- the new Turbo 1100 M Series for off trail would be the ticket!

But many of my in laws have long track Doo's (XP Summits, REV Summits and 'Gades) and they are really nice sleds -- they all love their sleds. But I can go anywhere they can on my Mt Viper. I wouldn't even dare to take my Attak some of the places we've gone. It wouldn't fare too well.

So Good luck with the Summit -- it's not a bad sled. They are fun to ride, the 800r engine is fast, and they really go through powder great. Not my cup of tea but if it's yours you'll love that sled I bet.

Different strokes for different folks. Heck, my Doo riding in laws think my Mt Viper is a tank while I think it's soooo better balanced than the Doo's, which just feel tippy to me.

Less money to change a-arm bushings than an eng. ;)! just my .05 if it worth anything.....good luck see you in the middle of next year when she down and lookin for a nytro

A change is good...

.you should be aware where other sleds get their metal.

Yamaha gets metal direct from the mines..then they smelt it down. They get the good stuff that way..pure metal.

The scrap that comes off refined metal is called slag..this is crap left over from good metal.

They take this slag and sell it to other sled makers to make their sleds from... ;)!

sled

Man you guys are brutal...ok he is looking at another brand of sled..good for him..there are other brands other than Yamaha...The other brands do make good sleds...if he finds the Ski Doo to his liking well good for him...I hate the weight of my Apex..my hyfax gone, idler wheels bearings shot and cannot be replaced, dounut gaskets gone again, front suspension arm busted again, monoshock cable busted again,,,I dodge and weave all over the trail cause my skis track like crazy, hands froze, belt squeals like crazy, front end gone loose, and my front driveshaft just broke while typing this......Yamaha sleds do have issues...Great!! my fuel pump relay just froze..
