Has anyone really rode the RS series sled and jumped drifts, snowbanks, hills with it yet? I have jumped mine a couple of times and at first I was happy with it. Now after taking some bigger jumps, it feels like the front end is hitting hard.

Do you know if they make a higher travel front end kit for these sleds? If so, where and how much?

jump

Yeah, I've jumped mine pretty good, and bottomed the front out a couple times. For the most part I'm really happy with it. There are limits to the thing as it is in stock form, but all around, I thought it handled what I put it through pretty well.

I felt like I was held back having fun out in the Montana this past week because of my front end bottoming out. I love the four stroke reliability and ergonomics but I might have to buy a backup sled for ditch banging and jumping. Any suggestions on suspension setups?

i have a rage and actually the front end balances itself out pretty nice. not had any problems bottoming out, but u'll have that with stock shocks.

Slap some Ohlins up front I bet you won't bottom out any more!

The only thing you can do is increase the spring tension on the front struts, or get stiffer front springs. I have mine tighten almost as much as I can and it works great.
I do not like the front track shock and spring. I have that set on the hardest setting and it still bottems very easily on the rough stuff. Why Yamaha puts good HPG aluminum shocks on the frount and cheap carbon steel shocks on the skid frame, I will never know. The rear track shock looks like it came off a cheap PW80.

I have pounded on my Rage pretty hard in the ditches and had a blast drift busting. I have had very, very little bottoming out. I was really impressed since with my duds on I push 270.

Same with my Rage....and from the looks of it my front shock in the skid is aluminum also..........

Why would anyone want to beat on their sled?

Hmmm...because you can???

I don't buy a performance sled to just tour the countryside. ;)!

All right!

I hit a pretty sweet jump this past weekend. I have to admit it was fun!
