Attak Rocks..But the suspention SUCHS!!!!!!!!!

Went for a rip yesterday ( 300ks ) and found some hudge drifts..so we jumped them.and the traction bar ..bar between the front and back suspention that runs just above the track..bent..wifey was not happy..lol...it was then rubing on the track. :o| .took it off and rode home. ;)! .I have jumped my mountain way higher than this and never bent a thing..are these attaks that easy to bust..?.The jump was only about 6-8 feet high..been over 10 on my sled..the landing was good..just after 6 times the thing was bent..does this happen often..Does anyone know if the new 144 has tuffer suspention.?..just want to know if the suspention is better...She wants her power steering.. :jump:
 
I assume she has a rear Mono skid and your speaking about the transfer rod in there. I don't think there has been a rash of them breaking. Only thing I've ever heard of is guys don't tighten them up enough, they can come loose and "stab" the track. But not outright bending or breaking. Although I'm sure it has happened to other guys also in the past. Sometimes things just happen. I will say tho that the Mono is not much of a jumping suspension. I ride fast and try not to jump mine. Search eBay or call Laneo. Lot's of these sleds being parted out asnd you can pick up a used transfer rod easy enough.

I bet it was a real wheelie machine the whole ride home without that in the skid! Some guys purposely remove the transfer rod from the Mono skid because they want a wheelie machine. I think most recommend not to do that.
 
Removed my t-rod on my Attak with no problems in 4000k. I think people with 121's dont have the same luck.
 
It is very possible it came lose. :o| .seems to have pulled out the last 3-4 threads..guess I should have checked to see if it was tight..one more thing to check :o| ..got the pice for 65$...the hole thing from yammie cost 500..hahahahahah....good to know the guys personally..Came from a totaled sled..Gave me that price cause they love my wife..replaceing just the piston rod..redid the threads and they are fine.. :-o
 
awesome that you got it fixed for minimal cost.

I never really thought of my LTX as a jumper, more like a grand touring machine. Lots of weight for that mono coming down, but Ive seen others jump theirs at the height that you mentioned, no problems.
 
Definitely not a sled to be jumped or treated harshly....this coming from someone who has busted about every piece of the Mono suspension in my '07 Attak.....both slide rails (along with heat exchangers), front pivot arm twice, transfer rod, and most recently, rear Ohlins shock. Plush as heck when the trails are smooth or alittle bit bumpy...but definitely dont like being jumped or pounded through the rough stuff.

Glad you got a new T-rod on the cheap and got it back up and running.
 
Get the shock revalved and a big boy spring. This helped my bottoming out.

Make sure you are measuring the adjustment for the transfer rod correctly.
I sold a bud my 05 RX 1 and he was measuring it the wrong way. He hit a bump on a washout and had the exact same problem as you.
Also, as mentioned above, you can run an Attak/LTX without it with no issues if you choose. A friend of mine has run his Attak for 6000 miles without one and loves it that way
 
Tell you guys why I fixed it..for me it was pretty much the same without the T-bar. :drink: .but its being traded for a 2012..So I had to fix it...I found the real problem....My son turned it out so he could wheelie it. :-o .It was right at the end of the threads.Well cant blame him for trying to make it better...lol...I guess..We were all there before,like burn out in dads car..Why not mod MOMS sled. :jump: .LMAO...

Tried it all. Heavy Spring from Pioneer (before sled touched snow when I bought it brand new). Last time around revalved by Hygear (all three shocks). Just bought another rebuilt Ohlins with Big Boy (6.5kg)Spring from Pioneer to replace the one I broke. Have yet to ride it though. Hope it is better.
