Just jumped off the "DOO" train for something that hopefully lasts 5yrs with no issues. (I did purchase the 5 yr warranty just in case --Habit I guess after the last 10 yrs).
I'm going to install 114 megabites (1.25 lug) . Do I need tunnel protectors or are the aluminum ones ok??? Pattern???
Also, I've researched on here regarding silencers, risers and skis. Lots and lots to read about. What's everyone's opinion which brand to buy. I figured you guys have put many miles on them and know what lasts and what doesn't. Thank you in advance for all info.
...oops better change my pic huh???

Whe you stud your new ride, be careful on placment...too close to the center and you will have issues with them rubbing on the bottom of the front skid shock.
Risers...well I really like the looks of the Lake Effect stuff from site sponser and member Superman ( go to the bottom of the main page and you'll see his banner )....the X-Factor stuff that site sponser/ member Arteex does is also very nice.
Skis...another prefference...Curve, C&A are both great skis...but I would search that one...I have C&A Trail Xs...cheap, bite hard, no darting...generally work great.
Exhaust...do you want just a slip on or a full system, visible or hidden behind stock plastics...really quiet or noise isn't an issue? I'm all about Hindle...I've run all of his stuff and it works and sounds great...it can be loud or quiet..your choice....If you want a full system I recommend getting the 20" muffler option with a noise reducer..but you will want to add an airbox mod to get the most out of it.
I would suggest doing a search on these items...tons of good reading and everyone on here are great for helping out...good luck and congrats on your new ride!

It looks like the only way for interference to occur with the shock is to have a stud mounted in the dead center of thge track? Is this true??

You wont miss the smoke, smell, cost of oil and adding oil everytime you ride. Your also going to love the linear power band from start to finish. Make sure to set it up to your liking and enjoy your new ride.

Ya something like that....check posts by Daranello or Mach9..I think they have both documented it and a fix. The factory tunnel protectors are fine however they are part of the problem with the ice build up that occurs...which really isn't a big deal...either buy a tunnel close off panel ( or make one...tons of pics on here ) or give you tunnel a smack after you've let it cool down for a while.

The bigger wheels will help with the center shock from hitting the track and studs hitting the shock ... I would do the wheels then ride it and fine tune it from there ... just my .05

6.9 pilots work well for skis. Stiffer center shock spring for sure

Do I buy the whole excell kit or just buy two wheels for the inside front?

You too!! It'll be nice to go out in the morning turn the key and go and not have to worry about if my sled will make it back to the cabin under it's own power!! Sounds like with a couple mods, these sleds will go forever!!
