Just changed the oil filter, it was running fine before. It was the first oil change and only has 400 hundred miles, any body have any solutions. It wont start without holding the throttle, and when you let go of it it dies. Possibly the TORS?

Is it kicking any codes? check everything you had apart. Did you remove the airbox? check all the tubes. Is easy to unplug them and not even realize.
No codes, double checked everything. Did have the air box out but thought we had everything back together. One tube was hanging down from the bottom front of the airbox but it was a drain.

lift the front end and try to turn bars back and forth...look for any binding of cables and such. your sure you put the right amount of oil?... I would still think you would have a code if something was unplugged. you can always look in the ownwers manual...they give a pretty good description of how to check the tors.... try unplugging it and see if it gets better.
We had the oil pump off to get at the filter and lost some coolent, added the coolent back in... Could be air in the system creating a false reading of the coolent temp giving the wrong amount of throttle to the engine. Have to try to burp it in the morning had enough of this for one day.

Next time dont remove that....it actually is not that bad to get to the filter. is possible....air I guess. been looking at the service manual for you...I dont see that as a problem.
its frustrating..i know....I remember my last oil change. rode a few miles and engine light came on. oil pressure plug came undone. I took it off to get at the filter.....tear apart again...

any ideas? was it the airbox, a sensor? i know there is a way to check the TORS but can't think.

Check the idle speed adjuster, it's located right below the oil filter, it might have gotten turned when changing the filter

That was my guess
After adjusting throttle cable tension I was able to keep it running at a cold start , but was reving high.... Like 2200 rpm. At that point we had enough so bagged it at 12:30 am. Wasn't 1 mile into our ride the following morning when we got the dreaded code 84. Shut it down and tried it again with another and yet another code 84 then decided it was time to try some field mantainence that had worked in the past on the RS Ventures. Took the pin out on the throttle lever and pushed a small piece of twig in the hole then put the pin back in. It seems to add enough pressure to the switch to prevent the code... Worked like a champ once again. No code the rest of the day.
I will have to look at that idle adjust the next time I'm up riding though and will probably have the Twig Over Ride Sensor switch replaced!

You most likely got code84 because you took out all the the throttle cable freeplay to get it to idle. As others posted, adjust your idle using the idle adjuster cable, which you likely turned when doing the filter change.
