Hey guys, I recently put a full Hindle exhaust on my XTX, I am planning on adding a fuel controller and filters next season. My question is regarding filters, what is everyone's thoughts on K&N vs UNI filters?
Which ever filter I go with I will be adding the Pre-Charger.
Or should I just get the modded air box?
Thanks for any input!

I would just go with Daves modded airbox for several reasons....stock fit so the sensor stays where it should, cost and it flat out works perfect with the Hindle exhaust as it was designed in conjunction with it...JMO

I have K&N on my nytro and like them a lot. Makes more room and I feel I get better cool air in.

Personally I would go with the lid from Hurricane. Reason:
1- It was develop with the Hindle setup and you already have it
2- Cost, about 1/2 price cheaper than the K&N
3- It was tested on the dyno with the exhaust setup and worked really good.
With all the racing and mods that Hurricane does I'm pretty sure they've tested all the possibility available to make the most HP from their setup. If K&N would have showed higher HP when added to the Hindle setup then I'm sure the Power Kit would include them.
Ulmer Racing uses the K&N and really like them and customer loves them.
Hurricane Racing uses a modified lid with 3 pods and really like them and customer loves them.
Schmidt Racing uses a modified lid with 9 small pods and really like them and customer loves them.
Can you go wrong with any of those kits? I don't think so. Each of them develop products with certain setup that works good for them. I personally would buy the K&N set up if I would by the Excel Kit, Would buy Hurricane lid for the Hindle set up and would buy Schmidt Brothers lid if I would buy their pipes.
Comes down to which product you like, customer service, reputation etc……….
Some people will love a certain product and hate the other.
We are lucky to have this many members on one site who test a lot of products we buy. Don't think you can go wrong with either of those choices. If you don't like it i'm sure there are plenty of members here that would buy it from you.

X2 on that Kojak!
I do believe I get more cooling air in and less weight with the K&N's. Each to their own. JMO

Exactly. Everybody ride different and some set up works better for some.
