I know about all the running board inserts (betterboards ect) but has any one narrowed up the running boards and still been able to maintain the strength or even make them stronger. This project is not goin to be about cutting weight, more to make the machine better for jumping and some boon docking

TY 4 Stroke God
The first time I modified my tunnel I cut the running boards off leaving an inch lip at the bottom. I then I had new sides bent up which you could easily make however wide you wanted. It worked out really well and was way stronger than stock.

wow that is pritty sweet! and looks good
Im thinking about making mine a bit narrower too. I think im going to cut them to the shape i like and remount the edges, or possibly use edges of some Arctic M model.
A friend of mine has got an XP tunnel that he is planning to cut the whole sides off and mount on the Nytro tunnel.
