Klim and Yamaha

Hey I rode in my Hillbilly Carhartts back in the day, it all works just depends on the budget

Ive always been a carhartt guy, and keeping warm out there is all about layers. I use a base layer, shirt, a sweater (thickness depends on temp outside) and belive it or not a carhartt waterproof/breathable coat and pants... this is not the carhartt of old guys, its windproof, waterproof, and I never get hot, cold, wet or damp wearing it out in our temps up here. just bought another set from anchorage army/navy store tent sale for 70 bucks total. they are thin by themselves but it gives you the versitility of wearing layers.

Carhartt/Walls

Maybe Carhatt has a market here , somebody should do a Cold Call , I have been seeing there product on all of the History Channel shows.

I also have a Walls Refrigawear suit my crew calls it Big Green that I have had for 20 years, they wear the suit in cold storages, the fork lift people wear them in the freezers , I only pull it out when it is below zero , bulletprooof. I also carry it in my big rig in the winter.

Got a few questions about klim. I am about 200 pounds 5'10" with 36W-30L jeans. I am thinking large for a size?? Is the sizing chart on klim canada pretty close to actual size? How warm would the bib and jacket be without the layers? Should I order a base layer and mid layer? I will be ordering these in so I want to make sure the size is right and order everything I should need.

I am 5'11'', 200 lb, 36x36 jeans, and I went XL Tall on bibs, with an XL coat. I tried on every size around that, but this was perfect IMO (I like cloths somewhat loose...not tight). I ride trails in the U.P. at high speeds with Klimate parka and bibs. I only wear a t-shirt or the moisture wicking motorcross shirts from klim unless really cold outside. Then maybe a pullover sweatshirt. I have never been cold in 3 years.

I'm 5'8", 180 lbs, and wear 36x30 jeans. I got an insulated Klim bib last year in size Large/Short and i'm very happy with the fit. Finally, someone makes pants that actually fit the short/chubby guys like me!!!

I have al Klim wear, now I'm thinking of the Klim helmet, with my Nytro my face gets very cold,I have the balaclava, in a close face with a heated shield, this is my biggest optical, cold face!! Maybe it's because I'm getting old!!

BV2S and never be cold again

Had klim and FXR (adrenaline) .. the FXR is more confortable and a bit wormer at first... but after 2 years lost windproofing, so began to chill out... and also les water proof...
The Klim was a little less warm thusse needed thicker mid layer, less flexible at knees and elbows and hips.. but seems more wind proof, water proof and but time will see if it will keep its charactéristics longer than FXR...if yes, i would go to Klim.. less sporty, but more quality that will last a little longer..if you change your suit avery other year, FXR is top not toch for the first two years...

;)!

if you buy klim gear it has a warranty. if you get wet due to the material wearing out they replace it for free...

Are you going to be at the Novi, MI show? G.B.

I think Yamaha dumped Klim as they are launching their gear line under the Snow Force label again. In this months American Snowmobiler magazine it talks about how yamaha is using some new fabric designed by NASA for their Snow Force clothing. G.B.
