Knee pads on Apex/Attak....any need/want/nice to have?

I probably could have clarified earlier....I'm asking strictly for functional/comfort reasons.

I don't use trails much...so I run thru brush and small trees all the time so cosmetics are a non-priority for me. I do try to avoid actual cracks and bent parts, but cosmetic scratches mean nothing....that's not why I'd want the pads. Thanks again!

I ride agressively and often sit close to the tank. On 250 mile plus days I would notice the inside of my knees would be a little sore (from hitting the tank). I think these pads would definitely help me out. I will be putting them on for next year.

Knee pads

I have the Skinz pads, same as the Yamaha Accessory pads.

I ride close to the fuel tank and knees are usaully in contact with the tank/pads. Worth the $$ to me.

I had thought about clear 3M tape, and the "Tankslapper" paint saver film, but the guys at Tankslapper said their product isn't designed for cold temps. (Stuff works nice on the motorcycle though).

I seen these in the yamaha accessories catalog, and thought they wouldn't be needed, but after riding a while, and with long legs, i bang my knees off the tank quite often so im ordering up a set.

You knees will not be positioned the same way they were on your REV so pads would be of no use.

I started to wear the paint on mine but I ride pretty agressive and don't like marks on my paint

I like mine both for the soft padding for the knee's and the wear factor. To each their own. Mine are skinz and when I bought their exhaust it didn't come as pictured so they sent me the pads for free. Nice people to deal with.

I have bad knees (especially inside my left knee) and long legs and I like to ride aggressive.

Most of the time the pads are not needed but if you ride on bumpy trails or even larger studder-bumps, your knees will begin rattling off the sides of the tank.

This is why I use em and I LOVE em. I think I paid $40 shipped last year and I won't ride without em.

+1 for knee pads! Well worth it IMO.
