Hi folks,
I have an '08 Vector LTX. It's served me well and, to be honest, I still love it.
I've been finding more and more that the riding stance I use has started causing 'stress' on my knees. The seat is a little low so I tend to have my feet back behind me on the running boards (similar to almost a kneeling position) instead of the standard 'upright with feet flat'. I've not overly tall, perhaps about 5'10/5'11. There's been times when I've stopped and have had difficulty dismounting as my legs have 'gone asleep' for lack of a better term.
I find sitting upright uncomfortable and a little unbalanced, to be honest. Perhaps it's just me but I'm wondering if others out there with similar setups have experienced the same thing. Are any of the new Yammy sleds 'higher' in stance or is there a way to make adjustments to my Vec's seat height?

WRP seat upgrade. Seating is raised 2" with firmer foam. There are a lot of information on this site about it. Your seat is the same as an Apex of like years. I was in the same situation. My knees would burn after awhile of riding making it hard to get off the sled. Travis at barnofparts is a dealer.

One of the reasons I tried a YamaCat, knees would kill me after riding a bit on old style Attack. Love the seating position on new ones.
The price of the seat about 300$ us and riser about 100$ us. Yamacat not interested.

I was on a Nytro for years, and my biggest gripe was the seat was too low, and also too soft.Hi folks,

Trade up to a Viper or Winder, I did. You won't be sorry. The seat height and firmness is perfect and your feet are ahead slightly further. I'm also the same height as you.

I had a few RX-1's, a Nytro, Rage( with a BOSS seat ) and an Apex. My knees and lower back, tailbone would hurt after a while. I then bought a Viper, mostly for the seating position. I have never looked back. I can ride forever on that chassis. I ride with a friend with an Apex. Motor is still sweet but cant wait to get back on my yamahacat. If you have the means, do it. You wont be sorry. One of the reasons I tried a YamaCat, knees would kill me after riding a bit on old style Attack. Love the seating position on new ones.

I have a 2012 Apex xtx put a 2 inch riser on adjusted my bars so I had to pull myself snug to the tank generally has me in a more agreessive riding position. My legs are straight and easy to stand up when the trail is trash in towns. Since I have my weight more forward my Xtx front end handles much better keeps me from laying back which can cause inside ski lift. I flirted with the idea of higher seat but the riser corrected my problem. I’m not sure how the riser would work on non eps models but perfect for my Apex xtx. I’m exact same height as you weight at about 210.

Its a simple answer, the foam is to soft. Switch to a RTX or MTX seat with the firm foam. Stays the stock height and SO much more comfortable because your knees stay more at a 90 degree. I'm 6' and was shocked at the difference.

This thread shows how I raised the seat 2" for less than 50$ for 2 sleds. Add the 2" riser to handle bars and it will cure a lot of problems for not much money.
