Well did a big trail run on Sat, we did 185 miles and had a great time.
Sunday my g/f decieds she wants to go to the drags and run here rev.
We also got home at 12.00 midnight and I was up at 430 am puking my guts up, I knew that ham didnt taste right.
Then up at 7 am to go to the races.

So I really wanted to go trail riding but I took her to the lake.
Its a 660 ft track with a smalll amount of sand at the start to add with traction.
Well I went into the 700 and 800 stock classes.
1st off my reaction times sucked bug time.
I guess Im used to mt drag car and having a transbrake and single button to leave on haha .420s all day ling in car.
Now on the sled ? .895s YUKKKKKKK.

Ok I set transfer rod to full transfer, it hits on the sand added ice.
Then hits the ice and boom blows the track away BAD!!!!.
I was out 1st round in both classes.
All the way down the track it was spinning and going all over the track.
Im studded with 144 studs on the 1.125 ripsaw.

Ill have to check my slips to see what the actual times were.

Honestly I didnt like it.
I prefer radar running over 2000-3000ft much better.

Once you get your sled set up for drags its alot more exciting...but radar running is much more fun on a trail sled. My brother ran on saturday and won 2 classes (1 with the Apex and 1 with the Viper). He mentioned there was a serious black RX turbo there running in Ameteur...SERIOUS sled.

I too have 144 1.375 studs up the middle. Is there a way to get an apex to hook up up on ice?? at least a little any way.
mine is at full transfer, susp. set at ful soft and just spins taking off.
hardpack & grass I have great grip.

Ya change out your track, and get some chissles in there,if hooking up on the ice is what you want, thats is why i changed out my track to the hacksaw and ran smaller picks that work on ice..

That was my friend with the turbo RX1. He ran 149 MPH the week before in 2000 ft. It really does haul the mail. Not that fast of the line but when it builds a little boost, Wow! Believe it or not that sled was a mountain sled at the beginning of this year. He will be in North Bay next weekend. He ran 135 there about a month ago before it was dialed in.

I think part of the reason the ripsaw dosen't hook well on the ice is the studs are to long and that creates a lot of deflection. Can't seem to figure it out. If you put chissels in then you can not run in trail class

Doctor, I saw your brother win with the Viper & Apex. Both very good running sleds and I think the only Yamaha's over there with the pros

It's hard with such a tall track to get the studs to actually penetrate the ice. The studs are so long they have alot of leverage on them and the track is fairly soft so the studs tend to fold over. A lower profile track and some big #*$&@ trail studs will work lol.

Racy - I think you buddy asked my bro to ride that RX next weekend in NB...I guess he's shooting for 150!! Nuts lol. We were also the only "new" yamahas at the world series last weekend too. Lots of Vmax 4s but no 4 strokes at all.

DoKtorC- Will see you up at NB next weekend. Should be exciting to see if he can break 150 MPH. Now that's hauling the mail!!!!!!
